Pilot / Gamer

Using both traditional animation and stop motion techniques, Pilot/Gamer was created from a combination of charcoal drawings, paintings on paper, cardboard, and collaged paper cutouts. Made in the wake of the Iraq war, 9/11 and the death of my father, it brings together reflections on mortality, war, politics and technology. It also alludes to the unsettling links between combat, entertainment and pleasure increasingly visible at the crossroads of popular culture, mass media and modern warfare.
